16th-century dark brown calf over paper boards; sewn on four supports; blind roll forming rectangular frame on boards (roll identified by David Selwyn as London "Bar-in-centre" roll, Oldham MW.c(1) 862), with blind fillets forming a border of rectangular and square blocks at outer edges of boards; four raised bands; gilt fillets on spine; spine labels with author and title; date in gilt at tail of spine; evidence of ties; manuscript waste (parchment) used as endleaf guards; titles and press mark (E47) on fore-edge.
