Salisbury Cathedral Library bookplate (19th century) with 13th-century Dean and Chapter seal and inscription “Sarum Cathedral Library.”

Binding

19th-century diced calf; blind fillets and rolls forming deep rectangular frame at perimeter of boards; gilt tooling on spine; blind roll around board edges; blind roll on turn-ins; brown endleaves; text block edges stained red. A scrap of paper with instructions "Bind in whole Russia handsomely- Apollonius Rhodius: cura H. Stephani Paris 1574" has been tipped in on fol. [paragraph]2.

Bound with Apollonius, Rhodius, It is not clear when these two works were bound together, and thus, if the provenance of the Apollonius is also that of the Callimachus.
