18th-century ink inscription at head of leaf a2: "Hawes"; "Hawes's book" inscribed in ink on lower pastedown. The armorial bookplate of Herbert Hawes is just visible below the bookplate of Salisbury Cathedral.

Salisbury Cathedral Library bookplate (19th century) with 13th-century Dean and Chapter seal and inscription “Sarum Cathedral Library.” pasted over another bookplate, which appears to be that of Herbert Hawes.

18th-century brown calf over rope-fibre boards; sewn on five supports (only three laced into the boards); blind fillets forming rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards, with vertical blind roll at spine edge; spine with five raised bands; text block edges sprinkled red.
