Provenance

David Selwyn suggests that this was probaby owned by Edmund Guest (1514?-1577), on the basis of the fore-edge pressmark, and possibly the fore-edge title. Selwyn suggests that the manuscript annotations that appear throughout the book pre-date Guest's ownership.

Binding

19th-century; half-bound in brown calf; boards covered with parchement; blind roll along vertical edge of the calf, where it meets the parchment; spine with five raised bands, blind stamps, and horizontal gilt fillets; "Marsilius Ficinus in Platonis theolog:", "De Animi immortalite", and "1482" in gilt on spine; fore-edge title in ink (faded); press-mark on fore-edge "R9".
