16th-century brown sheepskin over paper boards; blind fillets forming rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards, with blind fillets and rolls forming inner rectangular frame with central lozenge, and blind stamps; sewn on four supports; spine with four raised bands and later horizontal gilt fillets; spine label with "Demosthenes cum Comment: Ulpiani"; title in ink on fore-edge and tail-edge; text block edges gauffered; remains of ties at head-edge, fore-edge, and tail-edge; evidence of chain-plate at fore-edge of lower board.
