16th-century dark brown calf over paper boards; repaired May, 1938; sewn on four supports; blind fillets forming rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards, with additional blind horizontal fillets towards head-edge; spine with four raised bands, blind fillets and hatching, and later gilt title and date; title in ink on fore-edge; pressmark C12 in ink on fore-edge; parchment manuscript waste used as pastedowns (now free), identified by David Selwyn as from a 14th-century, perhaps legal, manuscript; new endleaves; evidence of two ties at fore-edge.
