Description
Letter from a William Tubb, addressed from the Close, to William Boucher, Salisbury.
"Being this moment returned from Devizes and finding your Letter on my desk respecting the Pitton Parsonage, I would just beg leave to say that I am already of Opinion that those Tythes are worth all the money they were Valued at". He goes on to suggest an "Abatement", "if the Treasurer is so kind as to indulge the Lessees".
The watermark "Gater 1800" suggests that the paper may have been made at Frog Mill, Curdridge, Hampshire by John Gater, who is said to have run a water-powered paper mill there until at least 1835.
