Description

Letter from John Bowle (Dean, 1620-1630), "To the right worsh[ipful] my loving brethren of the Chapter". Written from Bradfield. "The suit of Mr Lee goeth forwarde"; "wee must be prepared before hand"; "send over John Johnson with the books that you had to read over . . . and your noates withall". There is reference to "our greate Losse". "Mr Lee" may be John Lee, Treasurer (1624-1634), Canon Resdentiary and Prebendary of Alton Australis. "For Meere garden I have made my answer upon oath in Chancery".
