Letter from Robert Roche, Vicar of "Helton" (Hilton), Dorset, not clearly addressed to anyone in particular, but perhaps to the Dean and Chapter. "May your [worships?] bee informed concerning your Parsonage at Helton in Dorset that neyther the dwelling house nor Barn are as yet repayred, nor yet like to bee . . . Your Tenant carries away all for proffet". There seems to be a suggestion that the tenant is diverting resources to "building a new Barne on his own land"; "the church of Sarum will suffer great loss". "My humble request now is to give you better satisfaction"; "send downe a man to view for himself and to enforme more particularly how things are".
