Description
A copy of a letter from Humfrey Walll, Vicar of Stapleford, to the Dean, Richard Baylie, appended to a letter dated 10 Aug 1638 from Wall "To my good ffriende Mr Shuter at his house in the Close at Sarum". Thomas Shuter was a Notary Public. In the covering letter, Wall fears that Shuter is suspicious of his actions, or blames him in some way, and seeks to remedy this by sending him a copy of his earlier letter to the Dean.
In his letter to the Dean, Wall sought "an Augmentation out of the Rectory of Stapleford" but said that "Mr Shuter is not willing to deale for me in that Cause unless you be pleased by your letter to signify that you will not take it amiss at his hands".
