Description

Letter addressed from London, 22 June 1604 and signed "Henry Sarum" (Henry Cotton, c 1545-1615; Bishop of Salisbury 1598-1615). The salutation and part of the text is missing. It asks that the Dean and Chapter not proceed with the election of a Dr Tooker, but to prefer instead "my good frende Mr Perryn" (possibly Christopher Perin, Prebendary of Ufcomb, 1602-1612). Much damaged by decay, and mounted on modern paper.
