Description
Letter addressed from London to "the right Worshipfull and reverend my lovinge brethren of the chapter in the Close at Sarum" and signed "J Gordon".
Salutation in Latin. John Gordon says that "our brother the Subdeane is to relate unto you what we have done in our business"; "I stayed him here these five or six dayes of purpose to be an assistante unto me in our Church affairs". "I have spared noe labour nor paine to defend the church and the rites & liberties thereof". "I would intreate you that the Subdeane may have from you some allowance . . . he should be allowed his expenses".
