Description

Letter "to my very Lovinge friends the Dean and Chapter of the Cathedrall Church of Sarum" from Philip Herbert, 4th Earl of Pembroke (1584-1650), Whitehall, 21 April 1619. The Earl of Pembroke refers to a letter from James I sent to the Dean and Chapter in February 1619, relating to a Mr Lee, Pembroke's chaplain. It seems that no reply has been received and no action has been taken. Below the signature, "Pembroke", and to the left of the page, is written in a different hand a sum: 1639 1619 0020 Part of the second page of the folded sheet is missing.
