The Choristers' Account Book, Rents and Tithes for Preshute, Tilshead and Sarum

A paper-bound printed book relating to duties 'pursuant to the Acts of Parliament passed for levying Assessor,' which has been partially filled with 'An Acc[ount] of the Occupiers of Tythes in the Parish of Preshute belong[ing] to the Dean [and] Chapter of Sarum for the Choristers [and] due to the Master of the Choristers and the annual Rents settled to be paid...' from 1806 to 1810, and similar accounts for Tilshead 1807-1813. There are also loose papers inserted in the book. Inserted in the inside cover are four items: notes re rent and land tax; a bill for work done at Tilshead farm; a list of land and occupants, on the reverse of which is an account of payments [rents]; and a list of persons paying rents of tithes and rents in Preshute. At the end of the handwritten section of the book there were eight loose papers relating to Preshute rents and tithes, which have all been removed and catalogued under CO/CH/1/4/3 (an account of the occupiers of tithes and annual rents from Michaelmas 1805; tithes for occupiers of lands dated December 1806; annual rents for tithes due at Michaelmas 1808; annual rents due at Michaelmas 1807; an account of the occupiers of tithes and of annual rents to be paid due at Michaelmas 1809; two copies of an account of the rents due to the Master of the Choristers at Michaelmas 1810; and an account of the occupiers of tithes and of the annual rents due at Michaelmas 1811.) The book is marked, 'The Choristers Acco[unt] Book Rents Tythes [etc.] Preshute Tilshead [and] Sarum.'
