William [Courtenay] Archbishop of Canterbury's confirmation of an agreement made by the Dean and Chapter with the consent of the choristers and with his authority that in consideration of the benefits which John [Waltham] Bishop of Sarum bestowed on the choristers, every day after Compline all the choristers were to gather in the choir and kneeling before the Bishop or his perpetual memorial would sing the antiphon Sancta Maria Virgo (and others), and the [assistant] master of the choristers on his admission to office would take a oath to see that this was carried out. The Archbishop confirms the above and caused his seal with that of the Dean and Chapter to be attached. Given at the Archbishop’s manor of Lambhythe. (Bishop Waltham died in September 1395).
