Description
Joseph Mede's counterpart of an indenture made between Robert Woodward Dean of Salisbury Cathedral and Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part, and Joseph Mede of New Sarum in the county of Wiltshire gent of the other part. The said Robert Woodward and the Dean and Chapter grant unto the said Joseph Mede a tenement with the appurtenances heretofore demised unto Andrew Baden in New Sarum now in the tenure of Joseph Mede, bounded with a kitchen being the lads of the Warden and Dean and Chapter now in the tenure of Andrew Baden on the east part, with the dwelling house of Andrew Baden being likewise the lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter on the west part, with the Guildhall of the Bishop on the south part, and with the yarn marketplace on the north part. To have and to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was 40s at the four usual terms of the year in equal portions. Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of Charles Barnes and George Frome.
