Description

[Counterpart] of the above (CO/CH/5/1/26/1). Indenture made between Robert Okynge [Okinge] Canon Residentiary and Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part, and Alys Marshall of New Sarum in the county of Wiltshire widow of the other part. The said Warden or Governor and the Dean and Chapter grant unto the said Alys Marshall their corner tenement or tenements with the appurtenances which Alys Marshall inhabits in New Sarum near the marketplace where wool and yarn are sold on the north part, the lands belonging to the Warden or Governor and Dean and Chapter now in the tenure of Thomas Westcott and Thomas Bely [Belley] on the south part, lands belonging to the Bishop of Salisbury called the [Guildhall - yelde hall] and the lands of the Warden or Governor and Dean and Chapter now in the tenure of John Grey and John Luxmore with the common stream or water course there on the east part, and the King's highway leading out and from the wood market into Fish Row and Butcher Row on the west part. To have and to hold for sixty one years. The annual rent was £3 8s at the four usual terms of the year. 'Leases of Chorysters land[es] voyd.' is written on the back.
