Description
Counterpart of indenture made between William Dodwell Canon Residentiary and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part, and Francis Edmonds of Tingswick [Tingewick] in the county of Buckinghamshire of the other part. The said Warden and Dean and Chapter grant unto the said Francis Edmonds a tenement with the appurtenances heretofore demised unto Joseph Mede gent in New Sarum now in the tenure of [Mr] Brown leather cutter, bounded with a kitchen being the lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter on the east part, with a dwelling house being the lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter on the west part, with the Guildhall of the Bishop on the south part, and with the yarn marketplace on the north part. To have and to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was 40s at the four terms of the year in equal portions. Sealed and delivered, being first stamped, in the presence of John [Lucus] and Richard [Jesset]. Resealed and redelivered after alteration of the date in the presence of the same.
