Description
Indenture made between the Reverend Newton Ogle Canon Residentiary and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part, and Daniel Keele of New Sarum in the county of Wiltshire Silversmith of the other part. The said Warden and the Dean and Chapter grant to the said Daniel Keele their corner tenement or tenements and kitchen and also their other tenement with the appurtenances formerly in the tenure of Andrew Baden and now in the tenure of Daniel Keele in New Sarum, the marketplace there where wool and yarn are sold being on the north part, lands belonging to the Warden and Dean and Chapter now in the occupation of Lake, John Thresher, Francis Richardson and Knight on the south part, the Guildhall of the Bishop and certain lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter now in the tenure of Daniel Keele with the city prison called the Grate and with the common stream or watercourse there on the east part, and the King's highway leading out of the Great Marketplace into Fisher Row and Butcher Row on the west part. To have and to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was £5, 14s, 8d to be paid at the four usual feasts of the year in equal portions. Sealed and delivered, being first stamped, in the presence of Thomas Frome.
