Description
Counterpart of indenture made between the Reverend Nathanael [Nathaniel] Hume Clerk, Canon Residentiary and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part and Daniel Mayo Keele of New Sarum in the county of Wiltshire gentleman of the other part. The said Warden and Dean and Chapter grant unto Daniel Mayo Keele a tenement with the appurtenances heretofore demised unto Joseph Mede in New Sarum late in the occupation of [Mr] Brown leather cutter, bounded with a kitchen being the lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter now in the tenure of Daniel Mayo Keele on the east part, the dwelling house of [Mrs] Crocker widow being likewise the lands of the said Warden and Dean and Chapter on the west part, with the Guildhall of the Bishop on the south and the yarn marketplace on the north part. To have and to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was 40s to be paid at the four feasts of the year in equal portions. Sealed and delivered, being first stamped, in the presence of Jo[shua] Hillary. Renewable 21 Nov 1797.
