Indenture made between John Bowle Dean of Salisbury Cathedral and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter on the one part, and Richard Checkford of New Sarum in the county of Wiltshire gent of the other part. The said John Bowle and Dean and Chapter (with an increase of rent from 30 to 40s) grant unto the said Richard Checkford their 3 tenements with the appurtenances being within New Sarum in the tenure of John Luxmore and since in the tenure of John Barber gent deceased, with a kitchen now in the tenure of Richard Checkford on the east part, with the dwelling house of Richard Checkford on the west part, with the G[u]ildhall of the Bishop on the south part, and with the yarn marketplace on the north part. To have and to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was 40s at the four usual terms of the year in equal portions. Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of John Johnson and William Bowles.
