Description

[Counterpart] of the above (CO/CH/5/1/26/7). Indenture made between Thomas Hyde Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part and James Harward of New Sarum in the county of Wiltshire Mercer of the other part. The said Thomas Hyde and Dean and Chapter grant unto James Harward a tenement with the appurtenances previously demised to Richard Checkford by the name of 3 tenements in New Sarum late in the tenure of George Lane bounded with a kitchen on the west part and with the Guildhall of the Bishop of Salisbury on the south part and the yarn marketplace on the north part. To have and to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was 40s at the four usual terms of the year in equal portions. Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of John Johnson, Andrew Baden and Christopher London.
