Description
Counterpart of indenture made between Joseph Kelsey Canon Residentiary and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part, and Thomas Naish the Younger of New Sarum in the county of Wiltshire Clerk of the other part. The said Warden and the Dean and Chapter grant to the said Thomas Naish their tenement with the appurtenances being lately two tenements in the tenure of Peter Tinham and John Wells but now made one tenement in the tenure of John Wells and also their other tenement on the west side of the former two tenements in the tenure of Rogers which three tenements are now made two and are in the tenure of Thomas Naish in New Sarum in a street there called the fisherow [Fish Row] between the lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter now in the tenure of Thomas Obourn on the east part, the lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter late in the tenure of Henry Hamhond [Hammond] and now in the tenure of William Naish on the west part, the lands of the Bishop called the Guildhall on the north part, and the King's highway on the south part. To have and to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was £4 13s 4d to be paid at the four usual feasts of the year in equal portions. Signed, sealed and delivered being first stamped with a double sixpenny stamp in the presence of Ann Naish and George Frome public notary.
