Description
Indenture made between Thomas Benet [Bennet] Canon Residentiary and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers ('queresters') and the Dean and Chapter of the one part and William Lover of New Sarum in the county of Wiltshire Fishmonger of the other part. The said Thomas Bennet and the Dean and Chapter grant unto the said William Lover their tenement sometimes two tenements with the appurtenances in New Sarum in a street there called the Fysshe rewe [Fish Row] between the lands of the Choristers on the east and west parts, the lands of the Bishop called the guylde hall [Guildhall] on the north part and the King's highway on the south part, to have and to hold for 51 years. The annual rent was 53s, 4d to be paid at the four usual terms of the year in equal portions. 'John Lo[ve]res Le[?ase]' is written on the back.
