Description

Indenture made between Francis Eyre Clerk, Canon Residentiary and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part, and William Naish of New Sarum in the count of Wiltshire Apothecary of the other part. The said Francis Eyre and Dean and Chapter grant unto the said William Naish their corner tenement sometimes two tenements with the appurtenances now in the tenure of John Simon and Nicholas Simon in New Sarum in a certain street or place there called the Fishrowe [Fish Row] between the Guildhall of the Bishop as in right of his Bishopric and the lands belonging to the Warden and Dean and Chapter now in the tenure of Joseph Mede on the north part, the King's highway leading out and from the wood market into the Great Marketplace on the west part, the lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter now in the tenure of Thomas Naish on the east part, and Fish Row on the south part. To have and to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was £4 4s at the four terms of the year in equal portions. Signed, sealed and delivered being first lawfully stamped with three sixpenny stamps in the presence of Benjamin Whitear and Thomas Baden.
