Description
Indenture made between John Bampton Clerk, Canon Residentiary and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part, and William Naish of New Sarum in the county of Wiltshire Apothecary of the other part. The said Warden and Dean and Chapter grant to the said William Naish their tenement with the appurtenances being lately two tenements in the tenure of Peter Tinham and John Wells but now made one tenement late in the tenure of John Wells and now in the tenure of Richard Harrison and also their other tenement on the west side of the former two tenements in the tenure of John Harvey, which said three tenements are now made two and are in the tenure of William Naish in New Sarum in a street there called the Fisher Row [Fish Row], between the lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter late in the tenure of Henry Hamond [Hammond] and now in the tenure of William Naish on the west part, the lands of the Bishop called the Guildhall on the north part and the King's highway on the south part. To have and to hold of 40 years. The annual rent was £4 13s 4d to be paid at the four usual feasts of the year in equal portions. Signed, sealed and delivered by John Bampton being first legally stamped in the presence of Ann Mercer and Thomas Frome.
