Description
Counterpart of indenture made between Robert Gilbert Canon Residentiary and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part, and Thomas Bucknall of Plymouth Dock in the county of Devon Esquire of the other part. The said Warden and Dean and Chapter grant unto the said Thomas Bucknall their tenement with the appurtenances being lately two tenements in the tenure of Peter Tinham and John Wells but now made one tenement and now in the occupation of Harrison widow and also their other tenement on the west side of the former two tenements in the tenure of Pinhorn which said three tenements now made two tenements are now in the tenure of Thomas Bucknall in New Sarum in a street there called the Fisher Row [Fish Row], between the lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter now in the tenure of Gibbs sadler on the east part, the lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter late in the tenure of William Naish and now in the tenure of Thomas Bucknall on the west part, the lands of the Bishop called the Guildhall on the north part and the King's highway on the south part. To have and to hold for 40 years. Sealed and delivered being first stamped in the presence of [? Bird] and Henry Mervyn. The annual rent was £4 13s 4d to be paid at the four usual feasts of the year in equal portions.
