Description
Indenture made between the Reverend Newton Ogle Canon Residentiary and Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part, and Thomas Obourne [Obourn] of Woolverton [?Woolston] in the count of Southampton Clerk of the other part. The said Warden and Dean and Chapter grant unto the said Thomas Obourn their corner tenement now in the occupation of William Knight sadler in New Sarum in a street there commonly called Fish Row abutting upon the lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter now in the occupation of Francis Richardson glover on the west part, the entry of the tenement late of Francis Edmonds clerk now of Daniel Keele being the lands also of the Warden and Dean and Chapter on the north part and the King's highway on the east and south parts with the appurtenances. To have and to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was 26s 8d to be paid at the four usual terms of the year in equal portions. Sealed and delivered, being first stamped, in the presence of Thomas Frome. There is a note on the front which is largely illegible - it appears to start 'new Lese to Thomas Richardson' and ends 'Thomas Richardson of [the] City of New Sarum Sadler.'
