Description

Counterpart of indenture made between William Bowles Clerk, Canon Residentiary and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part, and Daniel Mayo Keele of New Sarum in the county of Wiltshire Watchmaker of the other part. The said Warden and Dean and Chapter grant unto the said Daniel Mayo Keele their tenement with the appurtenances being heretofore two tenements in the tenure of Peter Tinham and John Wells but sometime since made one tenement and then in the occupation of Harrison widow, and also their other tenement on the west side of the former two tenements late in the tenure of Pinhorn, which said three tenements now made two were late in the tenure of Thomas Bucknall and now of the said Daniel Mayo Keele in New Sarum in a street ther called the Fisher Row [Fish Row] between the lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter now in the tenure of Thomas Richardson sadler on the east part, the lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter late in the tenure of Thomas Bucknall and now in the tenure of Daniel Mayo Keele on the west part, the lands of the Bishop called the Guildhall on the north part and the King's highway on the south part. To have and to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was £4 13s 4d to be paid at the four usual feasts of the year in equal portions. Sealed and delivered, being first stamped, in the presence of Thomas Chubb and Joseph Elderton.
