Description
Indenture made between James Proctor Canon Residentiary and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part and Thomas Belly [Belley] of New Sarum in the county of Wiltshire Fishmonger of the other part. The said James Proctor and Dean and Chapter grant unto the said Thomas Belley their tenement with the appurtenances where Thomas Bely lives in New Sarum in a street there called the Fishe rewe [Fish Row] between the lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter now in the tenure of John Lover fishmonger in the east part and the lands belonging to the Warden and Dean and Chapter now in the occupation of Thomas Westcott fishmonger on the west part, the lands belonging to the Bishop called the guyld hall [Guildhall] on the north part and the King's highway on the south part. To have and to hold for 61 years. The annual rent was 40s to be paid at the four usual terms of the year in equal portions. 'Thomas Belles Lese' is written on the back.
