Description
Counterpart of indenture made between William Bowles Clerk, Canon Residentiary and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part, and Daniel Mayo Keele of New Sarum in the county of Wiltshire Watchmaker of the other part. The said Warden and Dean and Chapter grant unto the said Daniel Mayo Keele their corner tenement sometimes two tenements with the appurtenances now in the tenure of Charles Lake shoemaker and William Harvey in New Sarum in a certain street or place there called Fish Row between the Guildhall being the lands of the Bishop as in right of his Bishopric and the lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter now in the tenure of Daniel Mayo Keele on the north part, the King's highway leading out and from the wood market into the Great Marketplace on the west part, the lands belonging to the Warden and Dean and Chapter now in the tenure of Daniel Mayo Keele on the east part and Fish Row on the south part. To have and to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was £4 4s to be paid at the four usual terms of the year in equal portions. Sealed and delivered, being first stamped, in the presence of Thomas Chubb and Joseph Elderton.
