Description

Indenture made between John Lee Chancellor, Treasurer, Canon Residentiary and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part and John Browne of Breamer in the county of Southampton Yeoman servant to John Bishop of Salisbury of the other part. The said John Lee and Dean and Chapter grant unto the said John Browne their tenement where John Anderson sometimes lived and the garden belonging to it in New Sarum in a certain street there called Tanners Street, abutting upon the lands of John Battyn sometimes in the tenure of John Sellinge on the east part, the lands late [of] Charles Jacobs now deceased on the west part, the lands of Mathew Bee gent commonly called the 'gray Fryers' on the south part and the said street or King's highway on the north part. To have and to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was 20s to be paid at the four usual terms of the year in equal portions. Signed, sealed and delivered for the used of the Dean and Chapter in the presence of William [?London] and Henry But[ler] (writing faded).
