Description

Counterpart of indenture made between Thomas Lambert Canon Residentiary and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part and Richard Marsh the elder of New Sarum in the county of Wiltshire Cook of the other part. The said Thomas Lambert and the Dean and Chapter grant unto the said Richard Marsh their tenements and garden belonging to it in New Sarum in a street there called Tanners Street abutting upon the lands late of John Battyn now in the tenure of Ambrose Curtis on the east part, the lands of Mr Theophilus Dyer on the west part, the lands of Mr Simon Rolfe commonly called the 'Gray Fryers' on the south part, and the said street or King's high on the north part. To have and to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was 20s at the four usual terms of the year in equal portions. Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of George Frome public notary and John [?].
