Description
Indenture made between Isaac Walton Canon Residentiary and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part and James Bartlett of New Sarum in the County of Wiltshire Parchment Maker of the other part. The said Isaac Walton and the Dean and Chapter grant unto the said James Bartlett their tenement and garden belonging to it in New Sarum in a street there called Tanners Street abutting upon the lands formerly of John Batten now of Richard Bristow called the Fox and Goose now in the occupation of Thomas Gold on the east part, the lands late of Mr Theophilus Dyer and now in the tenure of James Bartlett on the west prat, the land of Mr Simon Rolfe commonly called the 'Gray Fryers' on the south part and the said street or King's highway on the north part. To have and to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was 20s to be paid at the four usual terms of the year in equal portions. Signed, sealed and delivered being first stamped with three sixpenny stamps in the presence of Thomas Naish and Thomas Baden.
