Lease from Thomas Hyde and the Dean and Chapter to Christopher Ewer

This may be a counterpart of the above (CO/CH/5/1/29/2). Indenture made between Thomas Hyde Canon Residentiary and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part and Christofer [Christopher] Ewer of New Sarum in the county of Wiltshire Yeoman of the other part. The said Warden and Dean and Chapter grant unto the said Christopher Ewer their corner cottage or tenement with the appurtenances now in the occupation of John Gomeldon in New Sarum adjoining the Ward of the prisons called the Convict and the Grate on the west part, the lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter on the south part and the river on the east part. To have and to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was 4s to be paid at the four usual terms of the year in equal portions. Signed and sealed in the presence of John Johnson and [?Matthew] Johnson. There is a note on the back which reads, 'Choristers Land by the Guild hall [Sarum] to Christopher Ewre.'
