Description
Indenture made between the honourable and reverend Robert Sherrard Clerk, Canon Residentiary and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part, and Thomas Hayter of the Close Esquire of the other part. The said Warden and Dean and Chapter grant unto the said Thomas Hayter their corner cottage or tenement with the appurtenances now in the tenure of the said Thomas Hayter in New Sarum and adjoining the Ward of the prisons called the Convict and the Grate on the west part, the lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter on the south part and the river on the east part. To have and to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was 4s to be paid at the four usual terms of the year in equal portions. Sealed and delivered by Robert Sherrard being first stamped in the presence of James Bell and John Brewster. 'Surrendered' is written on the back (and 'Goddard').
