Counterpart of indenture made between the reverend Nathanael [Nathaniel] Hume Clerk, Canon Residentiary and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part and James Goddard of New Sarum Cutler of the other part. The said Warden and Dean and Chapter grant unto the said James Goddard their corner cottage or tenement with the appurtenances late in the tenure or occupation of Thomas Hayter and now of the said James Goddard in New Sarum and adjoining the Ward of the prisons called the Convict and the Grate on the west part, the lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter on the south part and the river on the east part. To have and to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was 4s to be paid at the four usual terms of the year in equal portions. Sealed and delivered, being first stamped, in the presence of Thomas Chubb.
