Description
Indenture made between the reverend Robert Price Clerk, Canon Residentiary and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part and William Cooper of New Sarum in the county of Wiltshire Gentleman of the other part. The said Warden and Dean and Chapter grant unto the said William Cooper their tenement and garden belonging to it with the appurtenances late in the tenure of John Hamilton deceased and now of William Cooper in New Sarum in a street there commonly called Castle Street between the lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter in the occupation of William Randall Baker on the north part, the land late of Thomas Mitchell and now of Samuel Emly sometime since in the occupation of John Bond on the south part, the King's highway on the west part and the land of the Warden and Dean and Chapter and with the lands now or late of William Bawden on the east part. And also their other tenement and garden adjoining it with the appurtenances late in the tenure of James Drew Baker and now of William Randall Baker as tenant thereof to William Cooper in New Sarum in or near Castle Street between the lands of the Warden and Dean and Chapter on the south part, the lands of the Dean and Chapter on the east and north parts and the King's highway on the west part. To have and to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was 13s 4d and 26s 8d to be paid at the four usual terms of the year in equal portions.
