Description
Indenture made between Thomas Hyde Canon Residentiary and Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part, and John Hitchcocke [Hitchcock] of Preshute in the county of Wiltshire gentleman of the other part. The said Master and Dean and Chapter grant unto the said John Hitchcock the parsonage of Preshute with all manner of glebe lands, leasures, pastures, meadows, oblations, tithes, emoluments and profits with the appurtenances (the presentation of the vicarage there when and as often as it shall be void; tithes, oblations and profits to the Chapel of St Martyns [Martin] and Newland in the parish of Preshute in any wise belonging; and also a close of pasture containing by estimation three quarters of an acre between one close in the tenure of Katheryn Jones widow on the north part and Preshute Lane on the south part excepted). To have and to hold for the term of the natural lives of John Hitchcock, Thomas Hitchcock and William Hitchcock three of the sons of the said John Hitchcock, and for the term of the natural life of the longest liver of them. The annual rent was £23 to the said Master and Dean and Chapter and also £13 6s 8d to the vicar of Preshute at the four usual terms of the year in equal portions.
