Description

Power of attorney relating to a lease of the parsonage of Preshute. From Daniel Whiteby [Whitby] Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter. Thomas Hyde late Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter did by an indenture of lease dated 16 Aug 1662 grant unto William Hitchcocke [Hitchcock] of Preschute [Preshute] in the county of Wiltshire the parsonage of Preshute to have and to hold for the term of three lives for the yearly rent of £125. Part of the rent was yet unpaid, and so the said Warden and Dean and Chapter appoint Robert Edmonds [Edmunds] of the Close gent and John Carpenter of the same place gent their attorney to demand and receive the sum of £106 5s. Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of George Frome and Thomas [?H]ill. There is a memo on the back stating that the money was demanded by Robert Edmunds on 25 Apr 1677.
