Description

Counterpart of indenture made between Robert Gilbert Canon Residentiary and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part and John Neate of Barton Farm in the parish of Preshute in the county of Wiltshire gent of the other part. The said Master and Dean and Chapter grant unto the said John Neate their tyth [tithe] and tenth part of all sorts of corn, grain, hay, wool, wood, lamb, pigs, geese and all other things arising during the term granted from Barton Farm in the parish of Preshute, to have and to hold for 21 years. The annual rent was £105 to be paid at the four usual feasts of the year in equal portions. Sealed and delivered, being first stamped, in the presence of Thomas Frome.
