Description
Surrender of the lease of the Parsonage House of Preshute dated 25 Mar 1835. Indenture made between Hannah Withers Clark of Widcombe Crescent near the city of Bath spinster, Francis John Smith Wilson of Widcombe Crescent esquire and John Soden of Bath surgeon the joint executrix and executors of the will of Hannah Clark widow deceased who was the surviving acting executrix named in and by the last will and testament of John Clark late of Preshute esquire deceased of the first part, Thomas Baverstock Merriman of Marlborough in the county of Wiltshire gentleman and William Clark Merriman of the same place gentleman the joint executors named and appointed in and by the last will and testament of John Withers Clark late of Preshute esquire deceased of the second part, David Pierce Maurice of Marlborough surgeon and Rebecca his wife of the third part, and William Fisher Clerk and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter owners and proprietors of the parsonage of Preshute of the fourth part. The indenture witnesses that in consideration of 5s Hannah Withers Clark, Francis John Smith Wilson and John Soden according to their estate and interest in the premises as the joint executrix and executors of the will of Hannah Clark widow deceased and as far as they lawfully can or may at the request and by the direction of the said David Pierce Maurice and Rebecca his wife as the persons entitled to the present beneficial interest in the same lease and they the said Frances Baverstock Merriman and William Clark Merriman according to their estate and interest of and in the premises as joint executors of the will of John Withers Clark deceased and as far as they lawfully can or may at the like request and direction of David Pierce Maurice and Rebecca his wife have surrendered and yielded up the Parsonage House of Preshute together with the appurtenances and other premises comprised in the indenture of lease dated 25 Mar 1835, and also the rent charges. A schedule of premises follows the indenture.
