Description
Counterpart of indenture made between William Fisher Clerk and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter owners and proprietors of the parsonage of Preshute in the county of Wiltshire of the first part, Thomas Baverstock Merriman of Marlborough in the county of Wiltshire gentleman and William Clark Merriman of the same place gentleman the trustees and executors named and appointed in the last will and testament of John Withers Clark late of Preshute esquire deceased of the second part and David Pierce Maurice of Marlborough surgeon who is beneficially interested in the property of the third part. The said Master and Dean and Chapter grant unto the said Thomas Baverstock Merriman and William Clark Merriman their mansion or parsonage house of Preshute commonly called the Parsonage House of Preshute together with the houses, edifices, buildings, barns, stables, outhouses, courts, yards, backsides, curtilages, orchards and gardens with the appurtenances belonging to it, and also meadows, pastures, arable lands, commons and common of pasture and all other glebe lands. Except one ground or close of land called Gods Croft [Godscroft], also tithes and rent charges, and timber trees and other trees likely to become timber. To have and to hold for 21 years. The annual rent was £16 13s 4d at the four usual feasts of the year in equal portions.
