Description

Counterpart of indenture between Robert Gilbert Canon Residentiary and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part and John Greenland of Marlborough in the county of Wiltshire yeoman of the other part. The said Master and Dean and Chapter grant unto the said John Greenland their portion of tithes arising from the hamlet or tithing of Elcott in the parish of Preshute formerly in the use and occupation of Walter Shropshire deceased and now in the possession of John Greenland together with all privileges and appurtenances. To have and to hold for 21 years. The annual rent was £47 at the two feasts of the year in equal portions. Sealed and delivered, being first stamped, in the presence of John Robins and Thomas Frome.
