Description

Counterpart of indenture made between William Coxe Clerk and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part and John Kite of Tilshed or Tilshead in the county of Wiltshire yeoman of the other part. The said Master and Dean and Chapter grant unto the said John Kite their cottage or tenement and ground in Tilshead, bounded on the east with the farm called the Choristers Farm, on the south by the Street, on the west by a tenement late of John Payne and on the north by Farmer Wadham's orchard containing about 16 lugg of ground with the appurtenances which premises are now in the possession of John Kite. To have and to hold for and during the natural lives of John Kite now 60, George Kite son of John Kite now 34, and Joseph Kite son of Charles Kite of Tilshead aged 9 and for and during the natural life of the longest liver of them. The annual rent was 2s on the Feast of St Michael. Sealed and delivered, being first stamped, in the presence of Richard Tucker.
