Description

Indenture made between William Smith of Tilshead in the county of Wiltshire shopkeeper of the one part and Robert Coleman of Tilshead gentleman of the other part. An indenture of lease dated 22 Dec [?Nov] 1830 was made between Frederick Pleydell Bouverie [Pleydell-Bouverie] Clerk and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part and William Smith of the other part of a cottage or tenement with the appurtenances in Tilshed or Tilshead. Robert Coleman has contracted with William Smith for the purchase of the said hereditaments and premises. This indenture witnesses that in consideration of £45 to William Smith he does bargain, sell, assign and release unto the said Robert Coleman a tenement with the appurtenances in Tilshead together with the indenture of lease. To have and to hold for the term of 99 years subject to the conditions of the said lease. Signed, sealed and delivered by William Smith and Robert Coleman in the presence of H Kent Norris Solicitor in Devises [Devizes].
