Description
Surrender of lease dated 07 May 1847 from Robert Coleman unto William Fisher and the Dean and Chapter. Indenture made between Robert Coleman of Tilshead in the county of Wiltshire veterinary surgeon of the one part and William Fisher Clerk and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers of the other part. By indenture of lease dated 7 May 1847 made between the said William Fisher and the Dean and Chapter and Robert Coleman the Master and Dean and Chapter let unto Robert Coleman their cottage or tenement with the appurtenances to hold for and during the natural lives of William Smith aged 74, John Maslen aged 31 and Elizabeth Coleman daughter of Robert Coleman aged 9. Since John Maslen had died, Robert Coleman requested a renewed lease of the hereditaments and premises demised by the indenture of lease dated 07 May 1847 for the natural lives of the said William Smith aged 75, Elizabeth Coleman 10 years and Jane Coleman another daughter of Robert Coleman aged 7 years and for and during the natural life of the longest liver of them. This indenture witnesses that in consideration of 5s paid to Robert Coleman by the Master and Dean and Chapter he has granted, surrendered and yielded up the said cottage or tenement and premises with the appurtenances together with the indenture of lease to have and to hold unto the Master and Dean and Chapter for and during the natural lives of William Smith and Elizabeth Coleman, to the intent that the remaining estate and interest of and in the said cottage or tenement may be merged and determined in the immediate reversion of the same premises and the Master and Dean and Chapter may be enabled to make such renewed lease of the same premises unto Robert Coleman. Signed, sealed and delivered by Robert Coleman in the presence of [William] Beer Clerk to Mr Alford Solicitor in Salisbury.
