Description

Counterpart of indenture made between George David Boyle Clerk, Dean of Salisbury Cathedral and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Chapter owners and proprietors of the Rectory or Parsonage of Preshute in the county of Wiltshire of the one part (the lessors), and William Edward Mullins of Preshute gentleman of the other part (the lessee). The lessors grant unto the lessee a messuage or dwelling house commonly known by the name of the Parsonage House of Preshute together with the yard, garden and outbuildings thereof and also the buildings, yards, courts and offices on the south or south west of the messuage on the site of land formerly occupied with the Parsonage House used as a boarding house in connection with Marlborough College and also those pieces or parcels of land adjoining on the south and west and the buildings thereon the whole premises intended to be hereby demised containing 2 acres, 2 roods and 16 perches (described in the schedule and delineated in the plan). To hold for 21 years. The annual rent was £200 in 4 equal quarterly payments. There is a schedule and coloured plan. Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of [William Frederick] Woodward Solicitor in Marlborough.
