Description
Draft bill re Preshute Tithes to Nicholas Vansittart Chancellor and Under Treasurer of His Majesty's Court of Exchequer at Westminster, Sir Richard Richards Knight Lord Chief Baron of the same Court and the rest of the Barons there, from William Coxe Clerk and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers, and as such Rector of the Rectory or Parsonage of the Parish of Preshute in the county of Wiltshire. John Shrimpton of Preshute farmer had for 6 years occupied a certain farm called St Margaret's Farm within the Rectory but was refusing to comply in respect of tithes to which the Master had been entitled since 1813. The Master requests that John Shrimpton be decreed by the Court to pay the single value of the tithes. Signed by [?] Tinney. Tinney's 'Copy Opinion' is on the back. 'Sam[uel] Emly Essex Court Temple for Boucher [Salisbury].' is also written on the back.
