Letter to Mr Merrick [a Henry Merrick was clerk to Macdonald & Brodrick at this time] from R L Hussey informing him that 'Mr Norris never mentioned one word to me respecting Mr Macdonald contributing towards the expense of the Case [and] opinion' and that the 'Farmers who were interested in the road have paid one guinea each myself included, therefore I will thank you to inform Mr Macdonald that I never inform[e]d Mr Norris that Mr M would contribute, of course I could not...'.
